Terms of use

These Terms govern access to and use of Champography. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Last updated July 24, 2026

1. Informational service

Champography provides sports-history, geographic, mathematical, and editorial information for general informational and entertainment purposes. The site does not provide legal, financial, betting, investment, surveying, navigation, or professional geographic advice.

2. Independent project

Champography is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NCAA, College Football Playoff, professional leagues, conferences, schools, teams, venues, broadcasters, mapping providers, or other organizations referenced on the site. Names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary.

3. Data and calculation limitations

Champography attempts to use accurate historical records and documented calculations, but sports history can include disputed championships, incomplete venue records, changing names, approximate coordinates, source conflicts, and later corrections. The epicenter is a mathematical result based on the published policy and included data; it is not a physical landmark, municipal determination, property location, or statement of causation.

Results may change when data, historical interpretation, locality datasets, or algorithms are corrected or updated. Version information is provided so changes can be traced.

4. Permitted use

You may access the public site for personal, educational, journalistic, and reasonable commercial-reference purposes. You may share ordinary links and screenshots with attribution. Any downloadable dataset, source-code repository, embed, API, or licensed asset may carry additional terms that control that item.

5. Prohibited use

You may not:

  • interfere with site operation, security, or another user's access;
  • attempt unauthorized access to systems, accounts, deployment infrastructure, or nonpublic data;
  • send malware, abusive traffic, fraudulent requests, or automated traffic that materially burdens the service;
  • misrepresent Champography data, branding, or analysis as official league or school material;
  • remove attribution or falsely claim ownership of third-party data or original site content;
  • use the site in violation of applicable law or another party's rights.

6. Intellectual property and attribution

Unless otherwise stated, Champography's original text, presentation, branding, and visualization design are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party data, names, marks, maps, and source materials remain subject to their respective licenses and rights. OpenStreetMap and GeoNames attribution must be preserved where applicable.

7. External services and links

The site links to sources, maps, and other third-party services. Champography does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, privacy, terms, or accuracy. A link is provided for evidence or convenience and is not necessarily an endorsement.

8. Advertising, sponsorship, and affiliates

Champography may display clearly identified advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate links. Commercial relationships do not entitle a party to alter the dataset, calculation, correction outcome, or editorial conclusion. Additional disclosures will appear where a relationship could affect how a reasonable user evaluates a recommendation or link.

9. Corrections and feedback

You may submit evidence-backed corrections under the Corrections Policy. Submission does not transfer ownership of your pre-existing material, but you grant Champography permission to review, quote, reproduce, and use the submitted information as reasonably necessary to evaluate and document the correction. Do not submit confidential or unlawfully obtained material.

10. Availability and changes

The site may be changed, suspended, limited, or discontinued at any time. Features, sport coverage, data files, providers, and URLs may change. Champography does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

12. Limitation of liability

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent another law must apply. Any dispute that is not required by law to be heard elsewhere will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Alabama.

14. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with policies expressly incorporated by reference, form the agreement governing the public site. Material revisions will be identified by an updated date.

15. Contact

Legal notices and questions about these Terms may be sent to legal@champography.com.
